Reset SoftActivity Keylogger password

SoftActivity Keylogger allows to set a password that is required to open Configuration, view recorded logs and uninstall/reinstall the program. In case you forget your SoftActivity Keylogger password it's possible to reset it. Take into account, that log is encrypted and can not be recovered. You will need to delete it and start a new one.
You may reset your SoftActivity Keylogger password if you have Administrator rights on your computer.

For version 5.0 or newer:

Press Win+R on your keyboard in Windows to open Run window. Other ways to open Run window are: click Start menu, then click Run. Or in Windows 7: click Start menu, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Run
Enter this command and click OK to run it:

openskl /setpwd

It should ask for confirmation to reset your password. Click OK.
This will reset SoftActivity Keylogger password.
Then open SoftActivity Keylogger Configuration and click Clear All button to delete logs encrypted with old password.
Then set new password on Security tab.

For old versions prior to 5.0:

Log into Windows as Administrator
  • Windows XP/2000: Open Start menu->Accessories->Command Prompt
  • Windows Vista: Click Start button->All Programs->Accessories. Right click on Command Prompt and  click Run As Administrator
  • Type in the following:  %ProgramFiles%\SoftActivity\SKL\alogcfg.exe" /setpwd
  • Press Enter to run the command. This will reset SoftActivity Keylogger password
  • Open SoftActivity Keylogger Configuration and click Clear All button to delete logs encrypted with old password
  • Set new password on Security tab
